My radicalization around the pursuit of Performance Support and formal Performance Consulting training happened in 2004, and during that time I’ve acquired several books that I consider required reading. I’ve pulled these together on a single page and have each book linked to the associated page at Amazon.com if you would like to read content details and/or make a purchase. If you have other favorites you have discovered in your own practice, let me know and I’ll add them to the list. I will continue to add to this list over time…
Thanks Gary,
I’ve found Rossett/Schafer and Mosher/Gottfredson to be incredibly valuable resources. I’d also offer the following resources on performance consulting:
‘Training Ain’t Performance’ by Stolovitch and Keeps. This book covers so much territory, but in a simple and highly practical way:

‘How to be a true business partner by performance consulting’ by Nigel Harrison. Nigel’s 7 step approach is wonderfully simple (you can download some free resources on it directly from his site):

These two books have very much shaped my thinking around performance consulting.
I also wrote a short piece on LinkedIn that explores some of the considerations for adopting a performance consulting approach in practice. I’d appreciate any other people’s ideas/views:
